While referring to the video conference of the World Drama Therapy Association and pointing to the issues raised therein, the Secretary General of the Drama Therapy Association of Iran said that two new drama therapy centers will be opened in Iran.
According to ECO Cultural Institute quoting Mehr news agency, Amraei elaborated upon the World Drama Therapy Association's plan to hold the World Drama Therapy Week in the context of the Corona virus outbreak and said: 'Attended by representatives from 15 countries, the videoconference of the World Drama Therapy Association was held on July 29, 2020. At the meeting, the founding members of the union, including Iran, presented their activity reports followed by a discussion on the acute conditions incurred due to corona virus spread and the situation of the drama therapy centers amid the pandemic'. He said that the World Drama Therapy Association was established with 10 members, including Iran, and currently continues its activities with 60 members, adding: 'In this meeting, representatives of new members were introduced thus increasing the number of members of the World Drama Therapy Association to 60 countries'. Amraei continued his remarks saying: 'Also in this meeting, the solutions of dramatherapists to tackle the new conditions occurred due to pandemic and distance learning training in digital drama therapy were discussed. Moreover, the issue of digital drama therapy was examined in detail.' At the videoconference meeting, a report on the activities of the Iranian Drama Therapy Association, workshops, provincial agencies and virtual methods of drama therapy training were also presented. Talking on the date and time of holding the World Drama Therapy Week this year, the founding member of the World Drama Therapy Association said that the World Drama Therapy Week will be held on October 18 - 25, 2020. In the end, the General Secretary of the Iranian Drama Therapy Association briefed the meeting on the activities of this association in the country and stated: "While taking measures to open two new centers in East Azerbaijan and Mazandaran province, we are also planning to hold the World Drama Therapy Week in Iran. If the health conditions are favorable, the opening ceremony would be held in person and otherwise via video conference."
